In August 2020, AMVC Veterinary Services joined the Templeton community and is proudly providing small and large animal veterinary care and expertise. 

AMVC takes pride in doing the right thing every day by delivering exceptional and compassionate service to all patients. Each pet is a valued member of the family, and AMVC is devoted to treating each pet as if it were our own.

 AMVC offers routine check-ups, sick patient consultation appointments, and surgery services to keep your pet healthy or get them feeling better sooner. With AMVC’s updated state-of-the-art bloodwork capabilities, clients receive results faster. The clinic offers a variety of large and small animal products for purchase and specific products can be ordered as needed. 

AMVC has two additional mixed animal clinics in Audubon and Manning.

There is a small, but dedicated and experienced AMVC team serving the Templeton community. Cathy Pfannkuch brings 30 years of AMVC clinic experience and is the receptionist. She schedules appointments, greets clients and processes orders and paperwork. Morgan White, a registered veterinarian technician, has been an AMVC employee for seven years and has strong small animal background and assists the attending veterinarian. Most likely, on your visit to the AMVC clinic in Templeton,

 Dr. Amanda Miller, D.V.M. or Dr. Gavin Yager D.V.M. will be examining, diagnosing or treating your animal. They are both graduates of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine and are trained in small and large animal medicine.

Duane's Repair, Inc. was establish in July of 1986 by Duane Irlbeck. It was originally located at the Corner Station southeast of town. In 1993, Duane began looking for a new business site and with assistance from the Templeton Area Development Corporation a business park was established, a lot was purchased, and a new building was constructed. Duane's Repair, Inc. moved in February of 1995. In 2000, Duane became a used car dealer and began selling used cars. As of 2010 Duane's Repair, Inc. employs three full time employees and two part time. The company sells about one hundred vehicles a year and has a large customer base for its automotive service repair facility.

Landus is a full service, farmer owned cooperative. The company markets more than 80 million bushels of corn and soybeans annually, is a full service agronomy inputs provider, and further processes soybeans into a variety of value added products. Landus is currently the nation's largest marketer of soydiesel. SoyPOWER brand biodiesel is produced at Landus - Ralston facility, using state-of-the-art technology to create a diesel alternative with locally produced Iowa soybeans. On February 24, 1958, the Farmer's Cooperative Company of Halbur purchased the feed store on the west side of Templeton's main street. This building soon became the first branch office of the Farmer's Cooperative Company. Gene Rupiper was manager of this office and store. In August 1966 the Farmer's Cooperative Company purchased the elevators and buildings located on the north end of main street. This is the same location as the present day Landus location. Shortly after the purchase was made, the west elevator was remodeled and construction of a new office and a scale began. The first grain dryer was purchased in September 1971 and in 1975, the decision was made to build a 250,000 bushel concrete elevator at the location. The groundwork for this began in the fall of 1975, and due to the mild winter, construction continued through the winter into 1976. In 1984, the Farmer's Cooperative Company of Halbur and Templeton merged into West Central. This took place as problems arose with the deepening of the agriculture depression and the PIK program that called for farmers keeping many acres idle. The Cooperative discussed merging with several companies, before voting to merge with West Central in 1983. West Central immediately began the installation of improvements in the rail facilities and communications equipment at the Templeton office, and in June 1984, the first grain train of 54 hopper cars was shipped from Templeton. Over the next decade, several improvements and additions have evolved, including two new concrete silos, an additional flat grain storage building, and a liquid nitrogen and chemical shed. Most recently, the location has added an extra pit, bin, leg and load out. New rail siding put into place in the last couple of years now allows the location to load 110-car shuttle trains. These trains transport locally produced grain to end-users across the country. Construction of a state-of-the-art dry fertilizer hub plant began in Templeton in 2005, and was completed in the spring of 2006. This is another service being upstaged by the cooperative in an attempt to improve customer service.

Cindy Luczycki, owner of Natural Balance Massage is located at 326 E. 1st Street, Templeton, Iowa. Cindy has been a resident of Templeton since 1996. Cindy graduated from the Universal College of Healing Arts located in Omaha, Nebraska in May 2005. She became state licensed and nationally certified in July 2005 and started her business in August 2005. Natural Balance Massage has been in business in Carroll for the last 10 ½ years.

Integrative Therapeutic Massage – Each massage session is as individual as you are. A variety of techniques will be used depending upon what your body needs that day. The use of hot stones is included in each session.

Pregnancy Massage – Gentle techniques are used to reduce fatigue, improve circulation, increase energy and help alleviate some of the discomforts associated with pregnancy. You must be past your first trimester and must have consent from your doctor.

Oncology massage is a special type of massage designed for current cancer patients or long-time survivors, using an array of touch modalities to address the effects of cancer and cancer treatments. The main focus is to enhance healing while “doing no harm” to people whose bodies are dealing with lowered immune systems, at risk for developing lymphedema, and whose bodies are stressed by treatments of radiation, chemotherapy or recovering from surgery.
