Templeton Ball Park

City Park

Templeton's Ball Park was developed on Sacred Heart Parish property adjacent to the school in the 1960's. The Ball Park is used for the community's summer little league program, adult co-ed softball, and occasional slow-pitch softball tournaments. The Ball Park has also been used for other community events such as the annual July 3rd Street Dance, several concert fundraisers, and the 2007 Quasquicentennial Celebration.

The Ball Park has been improved through several projects over the years and is maintained by the Templeton Sports Boosters. In 1998, the City received a grant through the State of Iowa's Recreation Infrastructure Grant program to complete improvements that included new outfield lighting, outfield fence, new bleachers, a new open shelter, and various smaller items. Grant funds were also received from Iowa Network Services through the Templeton Telephone Company. Several years later, funds were secured to install a new electronic scoreboard. Today, the ball park is a beautiful facility that is enjoyed by many.
