Youth for Understanding: Kuemper Catholic High School would like to have foreign exchange students attend classes this coming school year. Host families are needed. Wednesday, September 1st: St. Augustine Fall Guild Meeting will be held at 7:00 pm in the School Classroom.

Thursday, September 2nd: Templeton Senior Citizens noon luncheon will be served in the Sacred Heart School Cafeteria.
Thursday, September 2nd: The C.D.A. Fall Supper and Meeting will take place at 7 pm in the Sacred Heart School Cafeteria. We will honor our 25, 50, 60, 65, and 70 year members. A catered meal by Lidderdale Country Store will be served for $8.00 per plate. Please call your reservation in to: Edith (Dan) Hoffman, Irene Eischeid, Mary Ann Sibenaller, Rosalyn Sporrer, or Judy Ziegmann. Payment is also requested at the time you make your reservation.
Saturday, September 11th: Father Corapi Update: Thank you to all who have committed to Father Corapi’s Conference. The Star Destination Coach will leave Carroll at 6:30 am from the K-Mart parking lot and return to Carroll by 8 pm. Second pick-up location is Manning at the park at 6:45 am. Bring your own breakfast if you wish – food is available at the Qwest for lunch, We do have a few seats remaining – call Judy Feld at 712-830-7878. Father delivers a powerful, timely message. Cost of $79 covers transportation and your admission to the Conference.
Sunday, September 12th: Halbur Men’s 4-Person Best Shot – 18 Holes will be held at the Manning-Manilla Golf Course. 10:30 am Shotgun – get your teams together. $10 a Member, $20 a Non-Member. Call the Manning-Manilla Golf Course at 712-653-3515 in ADVANCE by September 9th to reserve carts.
Sunday, September 12th: St. Mary’s Church of Willey Annual Pork Chop Supper will be served from 4:00 to 6:30 pm in the Willey Parish Center. Adults $8.00, Children (ages 6-10) $5.00, and Children 5 & under are free. Carry outs are available by calling 792-4516.
Sunday, S eptember 12th: Annual Dedham Tractor Ride & Show will be held at the Dedham City Park. Sign-up for the tractor ride starts at 7:30 am. The ride will start at 9:00 am and will go to Halbur this year. The tractor games and Dyno will start at 1:00 pm at the park. Everyone is welcome to bring their antique tractors, implement, and farm-related collections. There will also be Bingo and children’s games. Come join the fun! Sunday, October 10th: The 14th Annual Bishop’s Dinner for Catholic Education will be held at the Sioux City Convention Center. The keynote address will be given by Fr. Joe Krupp, a columnist for Faith magazine and author of “Smark Answers and Bad Jokes.” Tickets are now on sale for $125 each. All proceeds benefit the Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Sioux City. High School Choir Robes: At the mid-point of last school year, the decision was made to replace the Kuemper High School Choir robes. Sixty robes were purchased for $12,965. Fundraising to date has brought in $10,502. Thus there is $2,463 yet to raise. One robe is $225. If you like to purchase a robe, contact John Steffes at 792-3313, ext. 257, or Penny Miller at 792-3596.
Dedham Legion Auxiliary Membership Supper will be held on Monday, September 20th – Social at 6:30 pm with Catered Meal at 7:00 pm. (There will be no August Meeting).
CCRE – Carroll Catholic Religious Education begins with a Family Mass on September 15th at 6:30 pm at St. Lawrence. Catechists are needed for religious education this fall in grades 1, 2, 5, 6, 9, 10, and 11. If you practice your faith and get along with children you have the basic qualities to help be a light for our young. Contact Deacon Tim Murphy at 792-0513 if you are interested in helping.
